meet the CB2 team

managing director

I have been with CB2 since 2003. I love my job because I love design and the home.

I get paid to travel around the world, see trends, meet new people, and develop product that I think people can afford and enjoy in a modern lifestyle. There is no reason not to love that job.

senior director of business operations and strategy

Shopping is my #1 favorite past-time, and I love mixing modern with antiques, so I am definitely a CB2 customer. I also love to travel but since it isn’t part of my job, I do as much as I can with my vacation time—like a European honeymoon in June!—and live vicariously through the buyers.

I’ve been with CB2 since we opened our second store and launched the e-commerce site about 5 years ago, and I love the entrepreneurial spirit of it! The team dynamic is such a fun, passionate group of people, we are all very humbled and proud to be part of CB2’s evolution—and we definitely have fun in the process!

senior director of marketing

The goal of our creative and brand marketing teams is for our customers to feel the brand in a visceral and consistent way every time they touch it—from every catalog and magazine reference, to the website and online banner ads. Everything needs to work in concert to create an experience that is authentic and meaningful.

What I love about what I do is that I get to work on a brand
that has such inspiring, creative customers—we love their
DIY ideas, and it was a blast partnering with them to design

director of visual merchandising CB2 stores and catalog

Being a very visual person—an art student—this creative business is the perfect blend, the perfect fit for me.

When I was a kid I wanted to be Rhoda—from the Mary Tyler Moore show—in my imagination she had the most interesting job ever creating window displays.

creative director

I moved to Chicago 5 years ago and took the smallest apartment I could find because I didn’t trust myself with a larger space. I love modern furniture both vintage and new and am tempted every day I walk into our office.

The passion everyone on the CB2 team has for the brand is infectious and inspires me every day.

eCommerce brand director

With the support of our eCommerce team, my job is to make sure our website is easy to shop and reflects the same inviting and creative experiences as our stores and catalog.

One of my favorite responsibilities is staying close to our customers through usability testing—which helps us assess new features so they’re valuable and usable. The job is a great blend—of business, design and technology—and I feel very lucky to have what I think is the best job in the company.

Every morning I look forward to going to a very cool office space—close to downtown with views of Chicago’s skyline—and the work is so enjoyable, it’s hard to call it work.

This is a ‘wow’ job—great, fun people all around, lots of ‘eye candy’ to sample and share with our customers, and the places we travel to are amazing.

product manager for lighting and furniture—including bed, bath, occasional tables, media storage, home office, and outdoor

I love discovering a great band, a cool watch or a funky pair of shoes. At work I’m able to use my love of design and apply it to beautiful things we put in our homes. And traveling to exotic or faraway places for my job is an opportunity I wouldn’t have otherwise.

I love that we are managing a business and we get to be creative and collaborate with designers. So I have the job I’ve always wanted—working for a company that is fun, hip, and aesthetically and socially conscious.

product manager for pillows, throws, upholstery and dining furniture

After graduating from college for retail merchandising, and after a few “finding myself” jobs, I got this dream job at CB2—the impossible dream job was what I’d been told in school.

I love that I get to be creative at work, in a beautiful building, in a beautiful city, with a team of people that make work a fun and exciting challenge.

product manager for bedding and accessories including vases, candlelight, wall art / Edition LMTD

I was raised in Oklahoma where my mom shared her passion for the great modern designers—whose work was hard to come by there so we looked at a lot of books and catalogs and visited design showrooms in Dallas. So now it’s exciting to have the opportunity to work with talented designers to make modern designs more accessible—and to share new artists by giving attention to their work.

Being a pretty even mix of right and left brain, this job is perfect because it allows me to mix math and design—traveling and meeting new people is icing on a cake.

I’m very fortunate to work for a company that understands the importance of family so I have two. CB2 keeps me active and stimulated with new ideas just like I try to do for my son as he’s growing.

I love when we develop a new color combination—or when a vendor understands our needs and sends the perfect sample—it’s the little things that make my job exciting but more importantly it’s our team that makes it fun.

I get to work for my favorite store everyday! I have loved CB2 since the first time I set foot in the Chicago location years ago. I love the design, I love the colors, I love the prices. Now I’m able to help develop the beautiful products… as well as buy them!

The people I work with are truly inspiring. The passion and dedication in this office is infectious—I’m excited to come into work every day.

trend and development manager

Finding a storage solution for 300 pairs of shoes at home is worth the effort to support my habit. At work I support the visions of the buyers by collaborating to solve design and manufacturing challenges, reporting trends and meeting new designers.

As blog editor, I’m excited for the opportunity to share other passions such as writing, travel, photography and graphic design.

senior merchandising manager, catalog

Planning the catalog spreads, scouting locations, being on photo shoots—every facet of my personality gets to express itself and it’s like re-decorating every room, every season. I’d love to do that at home but this is much more affordable!

I’m very grateful to have worked with the CB2 team from the very first issue. It’s been an incredible journey evolving the look over time.

visual merchandising assistant

I’ve always had a passion for design. When I was very young I would rearrange all the furniture, art and accessories in my parents’ home whenever they’d leave for an evening out. I couldn’t wait to see their reaction when they came home. Thankfully they had a sense of humor about it and they allowed me my fun. Now I’m having the same kind of fun at CB2 anticipating customers’ reactions!

senior manager, east

After spending years moving from city to city in the midwest, I
landed in the bright lights/big city to head up CB2 soho.

Working in furniture was an unexpected and challenging career move for me that I’ll always be grateful for since I love our inspirational and attainable designs—not to mention working along-side fun and creative people everyday.

senior manager, west

Having managed in Chicago and opened three stores on the West Coast, I love being surrounded by the many creative individuals CB2 attracts—which is true wherever you go.

I’m so proud to offer attainable merchandise, but also to connect with the community of each location.

store manager, west hollywood

I started in the corporate offices where I kept hearing that everything really happens in the stores—so I transferred to San Francisco then LA.

I value being involved with a concept that is both socially relevant and economically obtainable. I’m inspired by the fun, creative and talented people I get to work with everyday.

store manager, eastside new york

It’s a fast-paced creative environment in the stores—I meet and problem solve with customers, help our team grow, share feedback with the merchandising team, partner in creating the look and feel of the store… the list keeps growing and there’s so much that we do everyday, I never get bored!

It’s great to be here, and now—to be an integral part of our growth and to share CB2 with new customers everyday.

store manager, toronto

I enjoy helping people find their creative side when they don’t think they have one—often enough a little encouragement is all someone needs.

And if I can teach someone I work with—or to see them learn something on their own and use it—it’s work but it’s fun!

store manager, vancouver

I love our culture! I’m inspired daily because I get to work with fun and creative people and interact with a diverse customer base who are interesting and excited to get there hands on affordable modern merchandise—and share their ideas.

Building the Robson store team has been so much fun and continues to be one of the many highlights since joining the CB2 family in my favorite city—Vancouver!

senior visual merchant, east

Having worked as a salesperson for 14 years, I was impressed with the fast paced world of store merchandising… the workout, being creative, and keeping busy. Since CB2 opened in SoHo in 2007, I’ve enjoyed problem solving when it comes to display design, and finding ways to push a setup or design idea further.

senior visual merchant, central

Whether it’s my taste or not, I love the products—to pretend
I own them and rearrange 10 living rooms however I’d like—and to have so much creative freedom and flexibility, what I do is a dream come true.

And I truly enjoy spending time with people—we’re all smart and entertaining—especially those who are distracted by ‘squirrels’…shiny things…

senior visual merchant, west

As a store designer, I love the inspiration Los Angeles has to offer—the people, the everyday beauty—not to mention its history of mid-century design.

From the flower and garment districts to the Neutra colony in Silverlake, I find my inspiration in the color, texture and style unique to southern California.

visual merchant, eastside new york

I love the creativity that flows through CB2 and the rhythm and energy that flows through New York.

I’m inspired by the diversity of the city and surprises you’ll find from neighborhood to neighborhood—from the graffiti and grit Downtown, to the steel and glass Uptown—I feel very lucky to be living and working in such a great city.
