I get paid to travel around the world, see trends, meet new people, and develop product that I think people can afford and enjoy in a modern lifestyle. There is no reason not to love that job.

Shopping is my #1 favorite past-time, and I love mixing modern with antiques, so I am definitely a CB2 customer. I also love to travel but since it isn’t part of my job, I do as much as I can with my vacation time—like a European honeymoon in June!—and live vicariously through the buyers.
I’ve been with CB2 since we opened our second store and launched the e-commerce site about 5 years ago, and I love the entrepreneurial spirit of it! When I was a kid I wanted to be Rhoda—from the Mary Tyler Moore show—in my imagination she had the most interesting job ever creating window displays.
I moved to Chicago 5 years ago and took the smallest apartment I could find because I didn’t trust myself with a larger space. I love modern furniture both vintage and new and am tempted every day I walk into our office.

With the support of our eCommerce team, my job is to make sure our website is easy to shop and reflects the same inviting and creative experiences as our stores and catalog.
One of my favorite responsibilities is staying close to our customers through usability testing—which helps us assess new features so they’re valuable and usable. The job is a great blend—of business, design and technology—and I feel very lucky to have what I think is the best job in the company.

Every morning I look forward to going to a very cool office space—close to downtown with views of Chicago’s skyline—and the work is so enjoyable, it’s hard to call it work.

I love discovering a great band, a cool watch or a funky pair of shoes. At work I’m able to use my love of design and apply it to beautiful things we put in our homes. And traveling to exotic or faraway places for my job is an opportunity I wouldn’t have otherwise.
I love that we are managing a business and we get to be creative and collaborate with designers. So I have the job I’ve always wanted—working for a company that is fun, hip, and aesthetically and socially conscious.

Finding a storage solution for 300 pairs of shoes at home is worth the effort to support my habit. At work I support the visions of the buyers by collaborating to solve design and manufacturing challenges, reporting trends and meeting new designers.

I’ve always had a passion for design. When I was very young I would rearrange all the furniture, art and accessories in my parents’ home whenever they’d leave for an evening out. I couldn’t wait to see their reaction when they came home. Thankfully they had a sense of humor about it and they allowed me my fun.
