how to: make a snowball wreath
Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 6:00AM
Supplies:
1. Styrofoam ring—ours measured about 24” in diameter, almost 3” wide and 2” thick
2. ornaments
3. hot glue gun and glue sticks
4. ribbon for hanging
Directions:
1. Hot glue fuzzy snowballs one at a time on to the Styrofoam ring—start with the 6” first, then use the 4” to fill in the gaps.
2. Place shiny mobile, starburst, and wire ornaments as desired.
3. To hang, loop a ribbon as desired.

How many 6 in and 4 in snowballs are needed to make the 24 in wreath look good?
We used about 8 of the larger 6" size, and 24 of the smaller 4" size. Good luck!
Thanks! I want to buy all of the pieces to make this wreath EXACTLY as your and give it with the picture and instructions as a gift. Thus, will you please help me with the Cb2 portion of my shopping list? So far I have:
8 - 6" fuzzy snowballs
24- 4" fuzzy snowballs
.....
Thank you!
Debra
I think it would be beneficial to put the ribbon on before the snowballs so that it won't show from the front. That's my plan, anyway :-)
Yes, that sounds about right Debra--good luck and let us know how it goes!
Hi Sandra -- Uh... I guess I wasn't clear. You see, I'm asking you to complete my list. Exactly which ornaments and in what quantity do I need to purchase to copy this wreath? Thank you! Debra
oooh...sorry Debra!
I think you're referring to the smaller, shiny ornaments that "garnish" the snowballs.
We used about 10 each of the starburst and wire balls, and 6 each of the mobile and wire icicles--but we think of them like jewelry so feel free to enhance it with more or less.
We love this idea, especially for our window display! However, do you buy the fuzzy snowballs? If so, where can you find them? Or do you make them out of Styrofoam?
Hi Katie!
You can purchase the fuzzy snowballs through our website. Simply click on the link provided within the blog posting and it'll take you right there. Good luck!
I can't seem to find a Styrofoam ring that's larger than 12"...any suggestions. I have checked Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Garden Ridge Pottery.
