nap time

One scientific study after another proves that a cat nap in the middle of the day can be the quickest way to re-charge your batteries and reboot your brain for the afternoon or evening.

Naps are defined as a short period of sleep in the middle of the day, anywhere from 10 minutes to 30. Any more than that—or too late in the day—and you run the risk of disrupting your normal nighttime sleep patterns.

In the middle of a busy work day, a nap might sound crazy to some—even though they’re part of the culture in many Latin and European countries—but many of the most celebrated, productive, smart, creative and innovative people were nappers.

Get comfortable, lower the lights, curl up with a light blanket or throw and use an alarm clock for ‘disco naps’.

If you can’t get co-workers to join you, just tell them that you’ve done your homework and you’re hard at work maximizing your brain power.
