recipe: bloody mary shrimp
Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 10:00AM Shrimp cocktail meets everyone’s favorite Sunday-morning cocktail for a vodka-infused shrimp appetizer.
Shrimp:
1 pound medium shrimp in shell, peeled, deveined, pre-cooked
1-1/2 cups thinly sliced celery (3 to 4 ribs)
1 cup thinly sliced scallions (about 6)
Sauce:
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vodka
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp/to taste un-drained bottled horseradish
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp hot sauce
If frozen, thaw shrimp per package instructions
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl
Spoon hors d’oeuvres sized portions into porcelain curve spoons (shown above)
Garnish with diced avocado (optional)
Makes about: 50 hors d’oeuvres
Takes about: 35-60min
