the selby contest

What: The Selby is in your place Contest*
When: August 16-September 15, 2010

Todd Selby is a portrait, interiors, and fashion photographer and illustrator. His project The Selby offers an insider’s view of creative individuals in their personal spaces—with an artist’s eye for detail.

It began in June 2008 as a website where Todd posted photo shoots he did of his artistic friends in their homes. Soon, requests came in daily from viewers all over the world who wanted their homes featured on the site.

The Selby became so popular—up to 35,000 unique visitors daily—that within months, top companies from around the world began asking to collaborate and Todd’s first book, ‘The Selby is In Your Place’, was released in May 2010.

So you think your place is, well, hot? Then 1) upload three pictures of your most creative living space along with a headline/title and then 2) solicit votes via email, facebook and twitter.

The Top 50 vote getters will advance to “round 2”: 50 finalists’ profiles will be judged by Todd Selby and CB2 representatives for originality/creativity of entry and how well they reflect a CB2 inspired lifestyle—even if your photos don’t contain CB2 merchandise.

Grand Prize is $10,000 shop card for CB2 merchandise, Todd Selby to shoot you and your space, and a giant signed poster based on the shoot.

I would like to know exactly what criteria is being used to allow people to enter this great contest and post pictures. While I have seen a few fun and vote worthy entries I have also viewed SEVERAL pictures that show apartments/homes under construction, family pictures of children and pets, and pictures that don't highlight or show a space AT ALL!! In order for your contest to be taken seriously for both the participants and voters please try and edit these entries before they are placed online for the public to see.
