1. After talking about it for years, I moved to Vancouver 7 weeks ago. Although Toronto will always hold a special place in my heart—it’s my hometown—Vancouver is my favorite city! The people are great in both cities, and both are beautiful—but its location in the Pacific North West is the clincher.

2. I start everyday with french press coffee—and everything is alright!

3. Even though I can buy ebooks now, I still enjoy holding books in my hand and creasing the spine—right now I’m re-reading The Architecture of Happiness by Alain de Botton.

4. Not my favorite accessory, however I would be blind to the world without eyeglasses.

5. Subscriptions to The Walrus, Maisonneuve and the Atlantic.

6. Down by the bay…morning walks to English Bay…

7. Living in Vancouver where it rains a lot, I wear Tretorn rubber boots—they’re functional and stylish—and they remind me of kindergarten!

8. Any music that can get me moving or has soul!—I don’t discriminate.

9. A Negroni cocktail—the gin might not be great for the liver, but the bitters are so, they balance each other out.

10. Since I can’t get one, I swoon over other people’s pets. Furry friends are always welcome at the store—they keep me going!
