animal rescue: lola

Just the facts: Lola was rescued with the help of Chicago Pit Stop Rescue and is just 18 months old.
Before she was discovered: Lola was roaming the streets as a stray dog so Animal Control gave her shelter. When they found her, she couldn’t use her front right leg—it’s possible she was hit by a car which shattered her shoulder. She got the medical care she needed, which included the necessary amputation of her leg, and was living with a foster family until we brought her home for the weekend—and that was that! Today, she has a trainer to help with her new transition to family life and is waiting for a cart that will allow her to be more active outside.
Nicknames: I call her Ms. Lolly—my husband often greets her with “rorry ro ro”, our kids refers to her as Snugglebug or Pooh Bear, and her walker affectionately calls her Lollipop because she loves to jump up and give you a kiss.
Favorite Snack: beef marrow bones, organic turkey breast—and nitrate free bacon.
Talent Show: using her puppy dog eyes to make you fall head over heels in love with her, and she has the gift of gab—very good at barking!
Favorite hangouts: snoring the day away on a bed and playing with her rockball in the backyard.
Guilty pleasure: a total belly rub Queen who would be content to lie by your side getting belly rubs until she falls asleep and snores like Grandpa.

Awesome! Thank you for rescuing this gorgeous girl. :)
This is beyond fantastic! So happy for her <3 Thank you CB2 for the post. I will be sharing. And I would love to see anything more involving responsible dog rescue and awareness :)
What a beautiful, lucky girl! So glad that she found a loving home and a little publicity on the side :)
Thank you for adopting sweet Lola! Rescued pit bulls make for the best of friends.
As someone who owns, and volunteers at a pitbull rescue I love Lola being featured. Thank you for saving a life!
Because of seeing sweet Lola in your catalog (and subsequently reading the thoughtful story on your blog), I immediately logged onto Chicago Pitstop to give them a donation for their good, compassionate and humane work they do to help pit bulls ! Thank you so much CB2. And, thank you to the beautiful family that opened their home and heart to Lola. This thoughtful business philosophy you have toward animals will make me shop at cb2.com.
You guys ROCK! Thanks again for focusing on a rescue (and a lovely pit bull pup, too!) May more people realize the wonders of adopting homeless animals.
thanks so much for using a Pit in your catalog - I have three rescued Pits and work in Pit rescue in Los Angeles. We face so much breed discrimination that it really helps to see Pits promoted in such a positive manner. And thanks to those that rescued Lola - she sounds like an awesome dog. Many people would have just put her down - but it just goes to show you what a little love and effort can do.
Kudos!!!
Thank you for showing the love!
Wow what a great thing you’re doing congrats with Lola, you're an angel. Lots of pit bulls get destroy as many people are afraid of pit bulls to adopt them. It is a beautiful thing to get a rescue dog, I have one my own and it is the best thing ever happen to me.
I can't tell you how happy I am to see Lola being a model in my new CB2 catalog! Not only is she a pit bull but a 3 legged one. This is such a misunderstood breed. Bravo CB2 & congrats to you Lola! Lola you now will get the life you deserve!!
She is beautiful. Thank you for featuring her and all rescue animals.
Just checking in to see how Ms. Lolly is doing.
I have two three legged dogs. One is also a pit with a front leg amputation. He has absolutely no problem getting around. He was about a year old when he was brought to a shelter with his injuries. I think it is because he was so young when he was injured that he has adjusted so well. He runs with my other dogs and has no problem keeping up. The other day I looked outside and saw my two tripods (the other is a basset hound/beagle mix with a rear leg amputation) and one of my deaf pits doing zoomies around the yard. Hooray for the attitude of special needs dogs. They totally show us what it means to live in the present. A shout out to CB2 for featuring 1)rescue dogs 2)pit bulls 3)special needs dogs. You guys rock!
Love Lola & how she`s also the "Pop" of color and comfy in this gorgeous room! Great story of her rescue. She is obviously very loved and well cared for. Thank you for showing a pit in their true light! It is appreciated and I`m so happy Lola has found her forever home with such beautiful, warm loving people!
Take care,
Pit Lover Too

Stories like this one warm my heart. How lucky for Lola to land with people who would fix her ailments and fully appreciate her wonderfulness. And how lucky you were to have found her! I'll bet that wherever you live, your family is changing hearts and minds about this misunderstood, under-appreciated breed!
Thank-you for using a pitbull and showing them as the sweethearts they can be. I am blessed with a lab rescue. I still love pitties and believe there are no bad dogs just bad owners.
Lola is absolutely adorable. Thank you for giving her a better life filled with love =)
Thank you for using a pit bull in a positive way. They get SUCH a bad rap, and they deserve so much better!
