take your dog to work day, 2011

photo by: rickWhat: Take Your Dog To Work Day
When: Friday, June 24, 2011

Tomorrow marks the 12th annual Take Your Dog to Work Day® so if your business allows them, join Pet Sitters International and celebrate their loving companionship.

Studies have shown that pet owners are typically healthier and/or recover faster—even more so if you work together—so if you’re able, take this opportunity to encourage adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and the like.

Save energy too—if they’re qualified paper shredders!

animal rescue: coney

In the newest CB2 Spring catalog, we got help from some pretty adorable models—only rescued animals were on-set to help bring awareness to animal shelters and pet adoption.

Coney—a 10+ corgi—comes from St. Louis, where an email from a co-worker was sent in search of a new home for her. Nicknames: C-dog, Cone-star, Cone-dog… but her name is Coney—named after the infamous Detroit hot dog.
Likes: Being anywhere we are… napping in the backyard… herding her ‘peeps’ by bumping our heels/calves with her nose… snuggling her head in our laps.
‘Pet’ peeves: Bad singing, stairs, and people who don’t stop to pet her—she wants to meet everyone!
Favorite toy: Tug-of-war rope.
Favorite napping spot: It’s a tie between her fleece-lined bed where she rests her chin on its walls, or the patio.
Guilty pleasure: Natural Balance small breed treats.
Talent Show: A ridiculously cute begging pose. She sits straight up and flat on her tail-less bottom—it kills us every time.
